This was our second visit to this magical place, and we fully intend to come back on a regular basis! There is literally no place like this on the planet, and we have made the most spectacular memories here! We especially loved bonding with Puffy (our 4-year old was over the moon about it), and we were thrilled to swim w/ turtles in the champagne pond (a virtual dream come true for me)!
We hope the new owners will be able to maintain the uniqueness and sheer perfection of this amazing vacation home. Thank you!!!

“Christmas Escape”
Mahalo to Ann + Richard for providing such an amazing sanctuary here in Kapoho! We’re locals (most of us) but are still blown away by how warm and soothing the waters here are… if Tom Hanks had only known about Lagoon House, “Mermaid” and Darryl Hannah might have developed a different plot.
True highlights are harvesting the small black + white limpets for Puffy from Champagne Pond, and watching the lightning sizzle down on the darkened Eastern horizon. We are also astonished by the Ray Bolger memorabilia + delighted to watch Wizard of Oz yet again this morning. As divers and ocean lovers, we LOVED the diversity of Hawaiian reef fish in the lagoon. What a gorgeous place – like nowhere else on earth. Hope to return soon!
With Aloha, and mahalo nui loa!

This was a fun & relaxing vacation in Paradise for us! We had the best time swimming with the fish and looking for the sea turtles in Champagne Pond. We are especially thankful to our good friends, the Schmidts, who told us about this beautiful place. The stars are amazing & so beautiful out here, so don’t forget to look up above! To Ann & Richard, a very big thank you for sharing your amazing Lagoon House with us & your warm hospitality made this Christmas vacation all that more special! Mahalo!

This is our 5th trip to Kapoho and 3rd to Lagoon House, by far our favorite! With young children, the sheltered lagoon is a great place to learn how to swim. My older daughter can’t wait to tell her swim coach back home that she swam underwater with so many fish! My younger daughter also loves the water. At 2 years old she is putting on a mask to look at the fish. Perfect weather with the trades at night. Ann & Richard are excellent. Thanks for the avocados.
Aloha and Mahalo

Wowie! My 4th trip to Hawaii. The Lagoon House is by far the best deal and most unique accommodations. I am cursed now and will have to return next year and definitely block in a much longer stay here!

We had a great time here swimming in the pond and identifying all the neat fish. We all got a laugh out of how territorial the black-spotted sergeant fish is. He really gets agitated about Puffy being around his hole, but can’t do anything about it since he is so much smaller. We liked gathering the snail shells for Puffy out in champagne pond. Also, the National Geographic magazines from the 40’s were really interesting and taught us some things about the war. We all really enjoy history and have appreciated them!
Well, we really enjoyed our stay here and hope to maybe come again!

This place truly was a piece of paradise! My husband & I were filled with pride and joy to see our 4 year old learn to snorkel and ID fish. We have been diving for 20+ years, but have never enjoyed such a calm & Controlled environment to observe a wide variety of marine life (50+ species!) I also enjoyed a brief exploration of coral gardens at neighboring University Pond. Swimming in with the sea turtles at Champagne Pond was another highlight. Aside from a day trip to Volcanoes Nat’l Park, we were content to spend all of our days at the Lagoon House. We hope to be able to return in the future – maybe when our baby is of swimming age! |

We really loved being here the past 2 weeks and your gift of flowers & fruit was a special treat. Of course the lagoon provided many hours of pleasure, and Puffy became great friends with us (even hamming it up for my underwater camera!). Thanks so much for sharing a piece of God’s paradise with us. We were here many years ago (’99 we think) & found it just as we remembered it & a bit better thanks to your attention to the lagoon. Will be sure to tell our friends about this wonderful retreat. Aloha! |
